Anita Varadaraju comes from a family of artists. She has always painted since childhood and moving to Houston ignited her need to make her passion for painting into a full time profession. Anita’s studio is her second home. She has successfully shown her work in Texas and New York. Her works are in private collections around the world. One of Anita’s goals in life is to raise the standard of the everyday object or thought. She likes to highlight the importance of the simplicity in life. Her inspiration comes from the innocence in her children, from the kindness in her friends and from the gratitude she feels about the little things in life. The pop art movement has had a tremendous influence on Anita’s works. She has gravitated almost naturally to this genre of art. Her current series has a whimsical, colorful rendition of her favorite childhood past time - comics! Also being a bit of a expressionist, Anita gives her viewers an opportunity to create their own stories in her new series. She does not tell the viewer what to think, she leaves that completely up to their imagination.
